MikeyzDragon's First FFR Tournament.

Welcome All Who Have Come For My Tournament

Hello. For those who do not know me, I'm MikeyzDragon. Call me Mike, Mikey, Mikeyz, or Z.
This is my first tournament so if there's something wrong I did, I'm sorry, I'll fix it.

Sign-ups:
If you have signed up with a different username then your FFR account, PLEASE tell me when you sign up.
It avoids confusion or blaming.

Tournament Details:
The FFR forums aren't up and I'm missing the tournament feel and this forum is empty, let's change that!
The tournament will be various rounds of challenges.
It might be a PA, Combo included scoring, Dark, Speed Modifier, or something else diabolic.
This is not going to be a AAA'ing tournament, it's meant to see who is the best.
There will be hard songs to play with various conditions.

Eliminations and placements:
Anyone can join in during the preliminaries and until the first round of the actual tournament ends as long as they post ALL of the scores to be placed.
There's NO eliminations. It's not fair if you're bad at one song but kick-ass in another.
The divisions will depend on the amount of submissions and how close the people are in skill from there scores.
I'm not a subscriber so that's why there's a preliminary.
Kayla has offered to help with placements. So there will be fewer rounds in the preliminary.
The preliminary will still be used for the borderline members. Just in case.

Scoring:
The scoring will be based on points for winning in your division.
When the round is over, I'll tally up the scores and place the people who won the round.
First place will get 1000 points and each place after gets 95% of those points.
Those points are used for EACH division. Not for the entire tournament.

Rules and odd ends:
Those that can AAA every round without breaking the rounds restrictions might be considered to go up a division.
Speaking of placements, IF YOU SANDBAG DURING THE PRELIMINARY SCORES, YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE TOURNAMENT.
Must comply to the rounds rules.
If you do not, your score will NOT count. No exceptions.

Screen Shots:
You must include the ENTIRE upper right hand corner data.
Please try and remember a time stamp.
If you are using FFRanotherway, you MUST use a time stamp and include your stats from another FFR screen, OR
You can wait a day after the round starts and include a picture of your last replays if you forgot a time stamp.

Divisions:
The amount of divisions will depend on how many sign-up and who's placed where in the divisions.
The higher-skilled players might have few people. I'm sorry.
We are keeping the 5 divisions since we all know our divisions from past tourneys.
Changing the amount of divisions for less would cause hell for use to place people in a fair way.
If there is a significant amount of players (like 12+) in a division, that may be split.

This is a two-staged tournament:
1. Preliminaries for division/rank placement.
2. The actual Tournament.

I'm donating 100k for the pot.

Nah, don't worry, Mikey.

Also, why don't you reduce the divisions for 3? You know, just in case of this tourney doesn't have a significant ammount of players.

I would leave it like it is right now and change it later depending on how many people sign in. Also what is the last day for sign ups?

Still hoping for more people to show up. We're hoping some of the FFR community will come over to our forums during FFR's forum downtime. Sign-ups will probably be up for 3-5 days then I might a song for preliminaries to decide if there's some borderline people. There's probably 2-4 rounds of preliminaries of approximately 5 days each. May be shortened if we get what we need.


We are keeping 5 divisions for now for the same reason for more activity among the forums.


Kayla, myself, and other DF members have been sending out invites to non-DF members to use our forum. I thought the tournament may be fun to have and may be a good idea to bring others in here.


There will be more updates about this tourney as I get the specifics cleared.

For the amount of people on this website, I suggest combining D1 & D2 along with moving a lot of higher D4 players to D5, like mfdat for instance & krunky.

Ok updated so far. I do not remember what division you were in kjwkjw. Don't need to rush, I'm not starting this thing for a little bit. The other tournaments are having a little bit of hell and the community isn't completely back just yet (from what I see).

Well, I guess the preliminary will be needed.
I might start this tourney when Winter Break starts when I have time to watch it.
I'll post it on FFR like a week before break (about December 11th).
Hopefully all of the pandemonium the other tourneys have will have stopped by then and all of the players have returned.

I think Kayla already said this, but preliminaries are really not a good options since people will post really bad scores to just be placed in lower division. If you need help with placements just ask someone else with a subbie to help you.

Yea, Kayla already volunteered, but the problem is the borderline people. :/ It sucks to dispute with it. It'd be nice for at least 2 people to do placements for a 2nd opinion for borderliners. :/ There just isn't a fully correct solution sadly :/

That's true. His PA has gone down dramatically. His past scores from what I've saw are low. Hardly any SDG's. He'll stay upper D2 if that were not to change.
