That's just a few of my faves, lol. Have a stupidly large folder of gifs. All of these were tinypic'd individually too just before.

It's actually a reasonable request. There are a ton of images in here and not everyone has a great computer. Embedding the images into the forums themselves makes it harder to load on a slower connection, whereas linking it to the thread only parses text and doesn't load the image data directly.

I will be unlinking the [img] tags and changing them to links to make the page load a bit quicker. They will still be there, it's just a matter of clicking them to see them.

EDIT: All of the .gifs have been turned into links. Do not post IMG tagged .gifs because it'll cause a serious load on the computer.

It doesn't destroy the thread. It doesn't take that much effort to click on the link as it opens a new tab just for the .gif. No reason to delete it. The point isn't that I'm complaining. It's about thinking of other people and what you're doing.

My sig is text base with a font size, not an image or .gif. Text is FAR from the memory or internet usage needed for a .gif or animation. You think clicking pisses you off? Ummm, how about waiting 45 seconds or more for a page to load 25 .gifs not to mention when they do start to load you have to wait and sit through a laggy .gif just to watch it smoothly. More time consuming.

Spoiler tags do not work. They still load inside the spoiler. How you may ask? I clicked spoiler on a .gif and it was halfway done.

You know what pisses me off the fact that people disrespect my moderators. Personally I can't stand when my computer freezes up because of a million things loading at once. And you can say hey don't come in but um we're the moderators of the content on the site we have to check these threads to make sure nothing inappropriate is being posted. None the less a user that may click the thread not realizing it's going to lag the hell out of if not freeze their computer. I see anymore of this disrespectful crap going on I'm seriously just going to shut down cause frankly I have bigger things to worry about other than people acting like babies on the damn internet. Get over it omg you have to click a link it's the end of the world probably takes less time to do that then to wait for every goddamn gif to load on this page. (go ahead call me a bitch or whatever really don't care)

If I may step in, no one was in no way accusing you as a bad guy in any way possible for the amount of .gif's posted in this thread. That's fine if you wanted to delete your post, even though you didn't have to. He was only saying at first that too many .gif's could make a computer lag terribly.

But unlike those SM screenshots, they have no graphic movement, now do they? I'm only pointing it out significantly. Limiting the amount of pics (graphic) in a thread to like a few at most is fine. And honestly, it's cool for us to look at what you think is funny/cool, etc. There is no problem with that. Just if it exceeds a certain size, then we should tell you to tone it down to reduce lag.

Now guys, this ended a while ago. But when a moderator/admin asks you guys to do something, you do it. It's really not easy keeping over 250 members happy. Let's not make it worse.

What's funny is all Mikey did was make a suggestion about links being posted rather than all the gifs because it slows down or freezes certain peoples computers and yet everyone treated him as if he were an asshole. And people saying oh he's not acting like a mod. If people were talking to you like that would you not get upset? I would say you would considering how upset you got because I was pissed off about how people were treating a moderator of the site.

lol, saw this thread earlier and it was on page 1, now it on page 3, gg fighting over something as stupid as pictures being changed to links for the sake of being more considerate to others.

From the Nico Nico website. Change the number in the link from 000 - 999. There are a thousand different gifs.

Javascript should be turned on so I can make a randomized signature with those.


For knowing practically nothing in Javascript, I can't believe the code I made worked 1st try... For anyone who's interested and can get it to work on another site:

No, our 250 members is 250 members. Just because they aren't active doesn't mean they won't show up on a random occasion.

FFR It's self had 1.7 million registered users, take away about 400,000 alternate accounts and you get about the real number of registered users, just sayin.

Sounds cool, but how exactly do you implement this code? I know practically nothing about JS.

You would just put that code into your signature... this is assuming you're allowed to use JS (it could be disabled like it is here). It would probably be easier to write it up in PHP or some other language but this is the only language I have even a slight inkling of what to do with :3
